To ensure that information is accessible only to those who are authorized to access it, is a challenging task in the current environment. If a user is not bound to one single workstation, it is no longer possible to allow or disallow access based on the workstation (asset).

Rather than focusing on assets, RES PowerFuse has a user-centric approach of security, so that a user can get access to the right information based on the following checks:
- Who is the user?
- Where is the user?
- What time is it?
- Does the user have the necessary token?
RES PowerFuse gives you centralized control over application access, network access and access to critical operating system files by delivering secure user workspaces. Specific lockdown settings can be configured according to a range of variables, including user, group, department and file type. The secure user workspaces that you compose with RES PowerFuse also provide complete control over all types of removable media: floppies, CDs, DVDs and other media storage devices such as USB sticks.
